Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Electrical Training
The City and Guilds 6187 QCF Diploma can be taken at level 2 or level 3. At level 2 candidates specialise in either air conditioning (6187-01) or refrigeration (6187-02).
At level 3, candidates will also choose either the installation and commissioning route or the service and maintenance route for their chosen equipment.
Run as block release in one week sessions it will normally take about 12 - 18 months to complete.

To achieve the City and Guilds 6187-04 Diploma in Servicing and Maintaining Air Conditioning/Heat Pump systems.
Divided into a number of modules teaching methods will include presentations, discussion and self study sessions, role play and practical work on real systems where appropriate.
The modules will be assessed by various methods including assignments (industry and course related), on line tests, practical tests, timetabled NVQ/diploma portfolio sessions and two on site visits during the second year.
To achieve the diploma candidates will need to successfully complete all the elements.
The course comprises 4 compulsory units:
• Understand and carry out electrical work on RAC systems and components.
• Understand how to organise resources with BSE.
• Understand Halocarbon 'fluorinated' air conditioning and heat pump system service and maintenance techniques.
• Service and maintain Halocarbon 'fluorinated' air conditioning and heat pump systems.
