About Practical Refrigeration Training

PRTC is an independent training facility for the refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation and electrical industries.
With a large workshop area including refrigeration cold rooms and air conditioning systems, practical hands on training on real working systems is an intrinsic part of our courses.

Located just 10 minutes from the M65, accessibility to major road and rail networks and also several international airports means there is no need to miss out wherever you are based. For companies with groups of engineers requiring training and suitable facilities we can come to your premises, providing a flexible package to meet your needs.

THE COURSES
Taking from 1 to 10 days to complete the Short Courses are modular so that they can be put together to form a complete training package.

Including F Gas certification, Hydrocarbon and Ammonia refrigerant handling, Service, Installation and Maintenance of Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Systems, Application and Design, and Copper Brazing, the RAC courses cover many of the issues encountered in the field.

Short Electrical courses include introductory courses, 17th Edition for beginners and experienced, PAT testing and Inspection and Testing.

Extended NVQ Diploma courses offer an in depth study programme for apprentices at either level 2 or level 3. Run over 18 months (level 2) or 12 months (level 3) learning is by block release, not day release, and practical work is again an essential ingredient.

Bespoke courses enable a company with a group of engineers to receive tailored training to meet their needs.

On-site training can be held for bespoke courses and some of the standard courses where suitable facilities are available.

WHAT DOES PRTC OFFER?
PRTC offers an ideal mixture of lecture sessions and practical workshops. Lectures are supported by good quality visual aids and educational systems. Examples are worked through to enhance theory where appropriate.

The practical sessions are carried out using a variety of typical working systems to give real hands-on experience. Analysis of failed components is used to emphasise the importance of correct design, application and installation techniques.

Comprehensive course notes are provided for all modules. Training may also include hand outs, assignments and role play as well as the practical work to give as complete an experience as possible.

WHERE IS PRTC?
