Employer Information May 2022: Apprenticeships

As the year moves along quickly we want to keep everyone up to date with Training Centre news and this month sees the focus on Apprenticeships.

Our current apprentices are all undertaking their 6090-20/30 (level 2/3) qualifications and are progressing well. Some have just started their development journey, and for others we are preparing them for their End Point Assessments. This formal apprenticeship qualification requires candidate dedication and hard work and, most importantly, full support and guidance from company personnel, encouraging behaviours that promote best practice on site which enable the individual apprentices to blossom. We will be visiting all employers, supervisors and lead engineers in the forthcoming weeks leading into Summer to discuss the levels of support required, from practical experience and mentoring through to communication skills.

PRTC is committed to quality training and we gladly welcome your opinions and views and hope you will be able to support out events throughout 2022.

Significant Dates for the Diary:

SkillFridge competition in association with WorldSkills UK (regional NW Event)

• 3rd May 2022 - Practice Session
• 18th May 2022 - Competition Day

RAC/IOR National Student of the Year Competition

• September 2022 - Being held in London. Shortlistings / nominations to be submitted end April/end of June. Information for apprentices and employers to follow.

Industry Awareness CPD / Development Day

• November 2022 - Aimed at apprentices, improvers and employers

This will include:

- Legislation awareness
- Current developments
- Upskilling
