Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Electrical Training

Construction Skills have now withdrawn their ACS & Utilities Engineering products which include the F Gas J11 - J14 qualification, their pipework and brazing qualifications and their Essential (U01) and Refrigeration Electrics (U10) courses. What happens now?

All CITB certificates are valid for 5 years. If you hold one of their qualifications and your certificate is still valid you don't need to do anything until it is due to expire.

For anyone without an existing qualification, or whose certificate is due to expire in the next few months, we are offering a variety of solutions:

F Gas Certificates

City and Guilds 2079 provides a valid F Gas qualification and 2079 categories 1, 2, 3 and 4 provide the equivalent of J11, J12, J13 and J14. 1, 2 and 3 day courses are running all year or this can be taken as part of a longer course for less experienced engineers.

Copper Brazing

City and Guilds 6187-21 Level 2 Award in Brazing Techniques for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump systems provides a City and Guilds CPD pathway equivalent. Split into two assignments, practical and theory, this course is available now - please see our calendar for the next available dates.

Foundation Electrics

Replacing the CITB Essential and Refrigeration Electric courses this bespoke course has been designed to meet these needs. Aimed for engineers working in the RAC industry or anyone starting out in electrics it provides an essential introduction into this specialist subject and forms a springboard for other electrical training. Full details are shown on the course listing on the left hand side and scheduled dates are shown on the calendar.
