A trip to London - RAC Cooling Industry Awards 2014

Congratulations to all our 2014 RAC Cooling Industry Student of the Year applicants with a special mention for John Root of Forest UK who reached the final 10 and ensured a return visit for us on 24th September

Held at the Hilton Park Hotel in London on 24th September 2014 the prestigious RAC Cooling Industry Awards Student of the Year competition yet again attracted a very strong field from all over the country. Our nominees were:

Reece Barrett / BAE Systems
Ryan Devitt / Forest UK
John Root / Forest UK
Liam Smith / East Lancs Refrigeration
Lee Wilkinson / Booth Air Conditioning

Special congratulations go to John Root from Forest UK who reached the final 10 and was one of two engineers from Forest to achieve this. A delighted John said afterwards:

"Being nominated in the top 10 of the Student of the Year was a huge honour but never the less it wasn't all down to me. Without the help of all at PRTC and Forest UK I wouldn't be where I am today. I'd encourage anybody to strive towards getting to the final 10. It's not only a huge achievement in getting there but you're invited to the RAC Awards' ceremony at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London, which is a great night to be part of."

while his Director, Neil Fraser, commented:

"Having two of the ten finalists for the National Student of the Year 2014 was an exceptional achievement. A huge amount of thanks and credit goes to the students, training providers and their colleagues as this is both a team effort as well as an individual achievement. Although disappointed on the night, we are extremely proud of both John and James and the experience will stand them in good stead for their futures."

Proving that our 'different way of learning' really does work, especially when backed up by hard work and employer support, level 2 courses are starting all the time (the next one starts in November 2014) and we now have a level 3 group who are well under way.
