About Practical Refrigeration Training
PRTC is an independent training facility for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

The facility's major strength is its wide range of typical refrigeration and air conditioning systems to give practical hands-on training.
WHAT DOES PRTC OFFER?

PRTC offers an ideal mixture of lecture sessions and practical workshops. Lectures are supported by good quality visual aids and educational systems. Examples are worked through to enhance theory where appropriate.

The practical sessions are carried out using a variety of typical refrigeration systems to give real hands-on experience. Analysis of failed components is used to emphasise the importance of correct design, application and installation techniques.

WHERE IS PRTC?

PRTC is based in Burnley, in self-contained premises of over 600m2, fully equipped and specially designed for training in refrigeration and air conditioning. See the Map page for our exact location.

There is a good selection of local hotels at various prices and the Hotel page shows a range of the most popular ones.
THE COURSES

These are organised into modules of from 1 - 10 days' duration. The modules are complementary and can be built up to give a full understanding of service or design related techniques. In addition to the scheduled courses shown PRTC will tailor a course to a company's requirements where appropriate or design a bespoke course. Some courses can also be run on site if preferred.

All the courses will emphasise the importance of environmental issues in the RAC industry, in particular:

• Changing refrigerant usage and conservation of refrigerant to reduce ozone depletion.
• Design, installation and maintenance of RAC plant for energy efficiency to reduce global warming.

All delegates will receive a comprehensive course package with information on the course content, worked examples (if applicable) and space for the delegates' own notes.
